The Benefits of Workplace Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging

Workplace Charging

The number of drivers switching to electric vehicles is on the rise. By 2040 all new cars in the UK must produce effectively zero emissions, following a ban on petrol and diesel cars in 2032.

It’s now time to prepare for the electrified future, and it’s never been easier with the OZEV Workplace Charging Scheme grant. O&D Electrical install electric vehicle charging points at your workplace: offering charging solutions for staff and visitors.

Offering charge points at your workplace is not only a convenient solution for EV drivers, it shows your business’ interest in modern and eco-friendly technology. Improve your business’ public perception with your commitment to green energy by installing a charge point.

Workplace Charging Scheme

The OZEV workplace grant reduces the purchase and installation cost of electric vehicle charging points for the workplace by 75%, up to £350 (including VAT) per socket. Companies can claim up to a maximum of 20 sockets; a total potential saving of £7,000.

What is this Scheme for?

This scheme has been available since November 2016 and is open to any business, registered charity or public authority located in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but is not available in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man or crown dependencies. Does my Company qualify for the Workplace Charging Scheme?

Your business does not need to own an electric vehicle however you do need to declare either a current need for EV charging infrastructure or an intention to encourage uptake amongst your staff and/or fleet.
